Dedicated to Menuhin Renaud Capuçon & The Menuhin Academy Soloists
Orchestral Concert
Sunday 22 August 2021
6 pm, Saanen Church
Ever since he took up teaching in Lausanne in 2014, Renaud Capuçon has been particularly fond of performing with his students in order to share, in unique symbiosis, the gems of the string repertoire. Distilling his knowledge since 2019 in Rolle as part of the International Menuhin Music Academy (IMMA), he is here with a programme naturally dedicated to the “violin of the century”, with an iconic work at the centre: Malcolm Arnold's Concerto for Two Violins and Strings, commissioned by Yehudi Menuhin and his student Alberto Lysy and premiered in 1962 at the Bath Festival conducted by the British composer.
