Mendelssohn's “Scottish Symphony” and Sibelius' Violin Concerto: a second evening under the stars for Valery Gergiev and his St. Petersburg Mariinsky Orchestra. With the help of the perfect violinist for Sibelius, whose playing is powerful and warm at the same time, Alexandra Conunova. Moldovan by birth and living in Switzerland, the artist made her breakthrough in 2012 by winning First Prize at the Joseph Joachim Competition in Hanover, confirmed three years later with a Third Prize at the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow.
