Cycle «Change III» 2023 — 2025

The creation of the International Menuhin Music Academy dates back to 1977, when Yehudi Menuhin (1916-1999) decided to bring together young musicians from different cultures, in order to offer them a very high level of musical education, to make them play together and in public.Since 2015, fifteen virtuoso violin, viola and cello artists have the privilege of being hosted in residence by the prestigious Institut du Rosey, in Rolle.

Since July 2019, Renaud Capucon's arrival as artistic director has given new impetus to the Academy, initiating a rich program of master classes given by famous musicians and a succession of prestigious concerts outside the walls. Throughout the year, one Sunday a month, the Soloists offer a concert in this wonderful hall that brings together a growing number of local and loyal audiences.

Last spring, adapting to the situation, they played online, accompanied by their musical director, the violinist Oleg Kaskiv. He himself had learned the demanding pedagogical education of Alberto Lysy (1935-2009), friend and disciple of Lord Menuhin. Other teachers supervise the students: Guillaume Chilemme (violin) Ivan Vukcevic (viola) Pablo de Naveran (cello) and Olga Sitkovetsky (piano accompaniment).

At the start of the 21st century, and in accordance with the philosophy of the founder, our ambition is to make these student virtuosos, ambassadors of a tradition of excellence and musicality, capable of transmitting the humanist heritage of great classical works and to contribute, through harmony and solidarity, to peace in the world.
