Beyond Carmen, Bizet only managed to complete and stage four opera projects in his lifetime – however, Carmen alone would suffice to cement a composer’s fame! It stands as the pinnacle of success in opera history, with its arias and choruses firmly etched into our collective memory. This year, under the guidance of Margrith Gimmel-Dauwalder, children from across the Saanenland region have delved into this masterpiece, receiving assistance for arrangements and musical direction from Roumen Kroumov. Adding a professional touch to the musical execution, a Gstaad Festival Orchestra ensemble is joining the endeavor. Brace yourself for enchanting opera music and a tale woven between freedom and passion ... is there anything more to desire?
