Opening Concert – Vilde Frang Residency I
Brahms ou la richesse intérieure I
Chamber music
Thursday, 13 July 2017
7.30 pm, Saanen Church
She was one of the “Jeunes Etoiles” [young stars] in 2011, she was given carte blanche with Truls Mørk the following year and then she was invited to perform a recital in 2013 – a wonderful story of fidelity to the festival. Norwegian violinist Vilde Frang will return to Gstaad this summer to stay for three concerts. Four of her five magnificent recordings have been decorated with the Prix ECHO Klassic award – including her latest for Warner featuring Concertos by Korngold and Britten. She commences the festivities with a sonata recital that also marks the beginning of the major cycle in the 61st edition of the festival: “Brahms ou la richesse intérieure” [Brahms or inner riches].
