7.30 pm, Rougemont Church
After the last sonatas in 2016, Swiss pianist Francesco Piemontesi pursues his exploration of Schubert’s universe, beneath the same history-laden arches of the Rougemont church, with the Sonata No. 17 – filled with joyfulness and energy, possibly virtues of the baths he was taking that summer 1825 in Bad Gastein? – and the first cycle of Impromptus, which opens with a page strongly reminiscent of popular song.
