During her youth, Lea Desandre was an absolute ‘superfan’ of Natalie Dessay. It was through Dessay that the soprano unravelled the mysteries of opera. Trained by Sara Mingardo in Venice and part of “Le Jardin des Voix”, an ensemble founded by William Christie, Lea Desandre is now considered one of the most exceptional voices of the new Baroque generation. Teaming up with Thomas Dunford and the Ensemble Jupiter, the soprano is set to enchant Rougemont. In 2019, this same lineup delivered a remarkable Vivaldi album with the Alpha label. Thomas Dunford, born in Paris to parents both skilled in the viola da gamba, received his studies at the CNSM in Paris and the Schola Cantorum in Basel under Hopkinson Smith. In their current programme, Dowland and Purcell meet Bob Dylan and The Beatles – iconic pieces that capture a vibrant British music scene alongside contemporary tunes that echo far beyond the Thames!
