7.30 pm, Temple de Château-d'Œx
In the everyday orchestra life, the oboe sets the pitch for all other instruments. Andrey Godik knows this all too well, as he not only plays in the Gstaad Festival Orchestra every summer, but also is a member of two of Germany’s most prestigious orchestras throughout the whole year: the Bamberger Symphoniker and the Münchner Philharmoniker. For his carte blanche performance at the 2023 Festival edition in the majestic Temple de Château-d'Œx, Andrey Godik has decided to perform alongside a string quartet, showcasing rare pieces that take the audience on a journey from Central Europe (with Antal Doráti) to the British Isles (with Britten and Bax).
