Matinée des Jeunes Etoiles VII – Nicolas Namoradze
Chamber music
Saturday 28 August 2021
10.30 am, Gstaad Chapel
Both a pianist and composer, Nicolas Namoradze studied in Budapest, Vienna and Florence, then crossed the Atlantic to settle at the Juilliard School, where he was taught by Emanuel Ax and John Corigliano (for composition). His PhD thesis on macroharmony in Ligeti's late work (!) made a strong impression. His strong interest in contemporary music inspires him to devise programmes off the beaten track, aiming also to emerge from the shadows of previous centuries' forgotten masterpieces.
The performance of Nicolas Namoradze will be broadcast on Gstaad Digital Festival on 30 August at 7.30 pm. Following all concerts of the “Jeunes Étoiles” series, you can vote for your favorite in the online voting on gstaaddigitalfestival.ch from 9.9 – 30.9.21.
