10.30 am, Gstaad Chapel
Born into a family of musicians, Anastasia Kobekina began her career as a cellist in her hometown of Ekaterinburg, capital of the Urals. She then studied in Moscow, at the Kronberg Academy (with Frans Helmerson), at the Berlin University of the Arts (with Jens Peter Maintz), and is currently studying at the Paris Conservatory and the Frankfurt Hochschule (for Baroque cello). Bronze-medal winner at the 2019 Tchaikovsky Competition in St. Petersburg, she excelled at the 2018 Gstaad Music Summits, winning the Thierry Scherz Prize and the André Hoffmann Prize, giving her the opportunity to record her first CD with Claves the following year (devoted to Shostakovich's First Concerto with the Berner Symphonieorchester). She currently plays a magnificent Guadagnini built in 1743.
The performance of Anastasia Kobekina will be broadcast on Gstaad Digital Festival on 16 August at 7.30 pm. Following all concerts of the “Jeunes Étoiles” series, you can vote for your favorite in the online voting on gstaaddigitalfestival.ch from 9.9 – 30.9.21.
