You are probably familiar with Beethoven's Quartets Op. 18 and 59, but have you ever heard the Quartet in F Major, which he himself extracted from his 9th Piano Sonata in 1801 and published the following year in Vienna with a tribute to Baroness Josefine von Brown? The excellent Cuarteto Casals is giving you the opportunity to do so, thanks to over two decades of experience under the “patronage” of one of the greatest cellists of the 20th century, Pablo Casals (a Catalan, like the two Tomàs brothers who founded the ensemble), and the mastery of the Alban Berg Quartet, which accompanied their first concerts in Cologne.
