Bach: The Cello Suites I – Christophe Coin
Chamber Music
Sunday, 15 July 2018
3 pm, Rougemont Church
A pioneer in discovering neglected or forgotten works for early instruments, Christophe Coin is a regular at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival. In 2014 under the magnificent vaults of the historical church in Rougemont he offered an unforgettable concert featuring Johann Sebastian Bach’s sonatas for viola da gamba and harpsichord. This year he appears alone with the great Bach and the summit of the literature for his instrument: the six suites for solo cello presented in two concerts and embellished with other compositions from the past and present.
