It is a love story between the enslaved princess Aida and the Egyptian officer Radames, who in turn is loved by Pharaoh’s daughter. Radames enters into war with Aida’s father. After his victory the Pharaoh grants him a wish. Whom will he choose? A story of jealousy and treason, of war as well as of peace. But our children’s opera does not end the way Gieseppe Verdi imagined the story… Roumen Kroumov and Margrith Gimmel-Dauwalder have adapted the work for children’s voices and an instrumental ensemble. Children and youngsters from Saanenland are on stage singing, playing and dancing out this opera with great “pomp”.
