1 Anmuthig, vertrauend, jungfräulich – Brahms Trios IV
Brahms ou la richesse intérieure VIII
Chamber Music
Thursday, 17 August 2017
7.30 pm, Rougemont Church
Did you love the original version performed the evening before in Zweisimmen? May we offer a second performance of Brahms’ Second Sextet in an arrangement for piano trio by Theodor Kirchner (a friend of Schumann and Brahms who had been active in Zurich for a time)?! It is framed in this concert by two “very sweet” trios by Haydn and Schubert, without whose existence Brahms’ splendid works never would have seen the light of day.
