Transformation of Dance – Trans-Classics VI
Orchestral Concert
Monday, 29 July 2024
7.30 pm, Saanen Church
While his mother worked as a secretary and later as the manager of our Festival’s founder, Daniel Hope spent pretty much his entire youth right next to Yehudi Menuhin. Therefore, there are few who know the century violinist better and can share tales of such a profound artistic connection. This year, Daniel Hope is back in Saanen with the Zürcher Kammerorchester, a group that Yehudi Menuhin himself highly valued. The programme delves into the various facets of dance in music – from the “Dance of the Furies” by Gluck to Romanian Folk Dances by Bartók, ballets by Tchaikovsky, and lively can-cans by Offenbach ... a bouquet of musical masterpieces, as always presented in a unique way by Daniel Hope!
