Founded six years after the Gstaad Menuhin Festival and today established in Stoke d'Abernon, Surrey, south-west London, the Menuhin School is one of the iconic institutions bequeathed by the “Violinist of the Century”. A regular guest of Saanenland since its very beginning, its orchestra has drawn up a programme in keeping with its image to celebrate its 60th anniversary: generous, colourful and open to the world – with the highlight being the famous Simple Symphony by Benjamin Britten, a friend of Menuhin's and the driving force behind the first editions of the Festival.
