Bernstein meets Beethoven – Beethoven 250
Daniel Hope & ZKO
Orchestral Concert
Saturday, 23 July 2022
7.30 pm, Saanen Church
Music is a living art, and this programme offers a wonderful demonstration of this. Completely in line with what we have become accustomed to from Daniel Hope over the years, we are given the opportunity to hear several masterpieces in rare and even previously unpublished versions for violin and string orchestra, such as the West Side Story Suite arranged at his request by Paul Bateman, the Cavatina from Beethoven's Quartet No. 13 transcribed for strings, or the sublime Adagietto from Mahler's Fifth in a more intimate version for chamber orchestra.
