Chamber Music
Saturday, 16 July 2022
10.30 am, Gstaad Chapel
Georgian pianist Giorgi Gigashvili has been a student of Nelson Goerner at the Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva since 2021. That same year, he was awarded the Hortense Anda-Bührle Fellowship as one of the youngest participants in the Géza Anda Competition in Zurich. He entered with two of the most important works of the repertoire: Beethoven's Eroica Variations, composed on a theme shared by his ballet The Creatures of Prometheus and his Third Symphony, as well as Schumann's First Sonata, also of a heroic nature and dedicated to Clara, who at the time was not yet called Schumann.
