Westminster Abbey at Saanen Church – James O'Donnell
Chamber music
Wednesday 28 July 2021
7.30 pm, Saanen Church
For twenty years James O'Donnell has been Organist and Master of the Choristers – in other words, Director of Music – at Westminster Abbey, one of England's most prestigious churches. Two years after the tenured organist of Notre-Dame de Paris, Olivier Latry, he is in turn invited to the organ of the church of Saint-Maurice in Saanen to perform the most beautiful works of his repertoire, naturally in keeping with the theme of the summer. Thus, we shall be treated to organ works by the great English masters, from Purcell to Vaughan Williams. Might a “tradition” be in the making?
