Today's Music – Film & Live-Musik
Saturday 4 September 2021
7.30 pm, Gstaad Festival Tent
Her Most Gracious Majesty, her diamonds, her corgis... and her secret agents! What better way to end the Festival than with a grand evening of English film music, hosted by the City Light Symphony Orchestra and featuring the timeless 007? The ensemble is conducted by a Swiss-based English conductor, Kevin Griffiths, who is well known to local audiences for his longstanding work as head of the Gstaad Festival Amateur Orchestra. It will also welcome to the forefront violinist Bomsori Kim, a newcomer to the exclusive family of Menuhin's Heritage Artists, playing the most beautiful themes from “Ladies in Lavender”, a 2004 film about a virtuoso violinist (played by the excellent Daniel Brühl) capturing the attention of… a number of women!
