Bernstein meets Beethoven – Beethoven 250
Daniel Hope & ZKo
GALA Orchestral Concert
Saturday, 25 July 2020
7.30 pm, Saanen Church
Music is a living art and this program offers a wonderful demonstration of this. Completely in line with what we have become accustomed to from Daniel Hope over the years, we are given the opportunity to hear three masterpieces in rare and even previously unpublished versions for violin and string orchestra, two of which were custom-made by Paul Bateman at the musician's request. A way to shed light on our audition with another angle... and simultaneously to escape – with Gershwin and Bernstein – into the irresistible atmosphere of last century's “Big Apple”.
