Finale – Viennese Operetta Gala Evening
Tokar, Nurgeldiyev & Eschwé
Symphony Concert
Sunday, 6 September 2020
6 pm, Gstaad Festival Tent
Wildfeuer [Wildfire], Blitz-Polka [Lightning Polka], Lavaströme [Lava streams], Brennende Liebe [Burning love], Explosionspolka [Explosive Polka], Feuerfest [Fire Festival]... It is going to get hot – very hot! – in the Gstaad Tent for the grand finale of this 2020 edition, under the effigy of the “King of the Waltz”. How, indeed, can we pay tribute to Vienna without honoring the music of one of the most emblematic of its masters, Johann Strauss II? Carried by Alfred Eschwé and his Wiener Johann Strauss Orchester, his waltzes, polkas and other marches will share the spotlight with operetta arias by his most famous contemporaries, served in a delightfully candy pink fashion by Olena Tokar and Dovlet Nurgeldiyev.
