Born in Cologne in 1995, Dominic Chamot began studying the piano on his own at the age of seven, after two years of violin study. He did not have lessons until the age of nine, with Ruriko Goto-Lutz. He then studied for seven years with Sheila Arnold, before joining Claudio Martínez-Mehner's class at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel in 2014.
