GALA Orchestral Concert

Thursday, 29 August 2019
7.30 pm, Saanen Church

She made a great impression by recording, at the young age of 17, three of Johann Sebastian Bach’s six Sonatas and Partitas, followed, two years later, by Beethoven’s no less stratospheric Violin Concerto. Twenty years on, it is a great pleasure to see Hilary Hahn again, still playing Bach with the same ease – and whose other three Sonatas and Partitas she has in fact just recorded. For the present two concertos, she is accompanied by the excellent Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, with whom she recorded Mozart’s Fifth and Vieuxtemps’s Fourth in 2015... and whose musicians will play several Bach chorales to punctuate her interventions!
