Take Two II – Patricia Kopatchinskaja & Sol Gabetta
Chamber Music
Monday, 30 July 2018
7.30 pm, Zweisimmen Church
The idee: to expand the repertoire of works for violin and cello. The first step was made in 2014 with the world premiere of Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks’ Duo. The second step will take place at the church in Zweisimmen with not one but six world premieres! In addition to commissions to Peter Eötvös and Francisco Coll, Patricia Kopatchinskaja and Sol Gabetta had the idea to launch a request for compositions by way of social media! The goal is to select three works from those submitted. In addition to this a composition written by the Moldavian violinist for Terre des hommes. Four Baroque duos as well as four contemporary duos complete the concert programme. It is sure to be an extraordinarily unique concert!
