Chamber Music

Wednesday, 2 August 2017
10 pm, Beinhaus Zweisimmen

They were conceived to lull the restless Count Keyserling to sleep, who had taken one of Bach’s most talented students into his service, Johann Gottlieb Goldberg. In our case, however, they will keep you awake through the night under the fingers of Jean Rondeau – who was a discovery for many in last year’s programme featuring music of Bach and his sons – in the midst of candlelight setting the mood under the secular vaults of the Beinhaus in Zweisimmen. What a wonderful combination! The Goldberg Variations as the “dessert” to the Mediterranean concert with L’Arpeggiata that takes place two hours earlier in the church next door.
