Beethoven Violin Sonatas II – Faust & Melnikov
Chamber Music
Tuesday, 25 July 2017
7.30 pm, Zweisimmen Church
Following Rougemont: Zweisimmen, the second leg of the performance of Beethoven’s complete sonatas by Isabelle Faust and Alexander Melnikov, who have collaborated for many years in concert as well as on recordings. This is the heart of the cycle: the three sonatas opus 30 that were composed before the tragic summer of 1802, the summer of the famous “Heiligenstadt Testament” in which the fervor of youth is brutally confronted by the reality of the composer’s increasing deafness.
